The campaign that brought South Asian mental health into the national conversation.
Heal Forward was MHISA's first national campaign — a multi-platform initiative designed to break the silence around South Asian mental health. Through social media, community events, educational content, and our conversation card game, we brought mental health dialogue into South Asian homes, temples, and campuses across the country.
Four streams. One movement.
Our social media campaign brought South Asian mental health content to feeds across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube — reaching hundreds of thousands of South Asians with culturally resonant messaging about stigma, help-seeking, and community healing. Our @mhisa.national Instagram grew to 3,200+ followers through authentic, community-driven content.
Heal Forward wasn't just digital. We brought the campaign to temples, cultural centers, university campuses, and community health fairs — delivering workshops, distributing resources, and creating space for South Asian communities to talk about mental health in environments they already trusted.

We developed and distributed a suite of educational resources through the campaign — including our Conversation Kit facilitator guide, family workshop curriculum, social media content toolkit, and multilingual resource guides for community organizations.
The Heal Forward Conversation Kit is a research-backed card game designed specifically for South Asian families. Using structured prompts grounded in MHISA's research on stigma and help-seeking behavior, the game creates a safe, low-stakes space for the conversations that culture and shame too often silence. It's been used in MHISA workshops across the country — and now it's available for your family too.
Purchasing the kit directly supports MHISA's programs.

We're planning the next phase of the Heal Forward campaign — expanded to new cities, new campuses, and new community partners. If you want to bring Heal Forward to your community, we want to hear from you.
