South Asians report mood or anxiety disorder at least once in their lifetime.
South Asian-American communities and the mental healthcare system are not effectively integrated. As a result:
1. There is not enough academic literature on South Asian American mental health
2. The South Asian-American community lacks guidance on conducting healthy dialogue on mental health
3. Current resources do not address unique risk factors in the South Asian community.
